Vera is the nearest town only 2 minutes drive away. Vera is a large,
traditional Spanish town - look out for the market on Saturday mornings, great
for bargains!
Close by is the historic Moorish town of Mojacar which is only a 10 minute drive
away. Just before you reach Mojacar is the fishing town of Garrucha, where
there are more great seafood restaurants than you can shake a stick at!
Almeria, Andalucias eastern most province, is sunny, dry and the surrounding coastlines holds the Cabo de Gata Natural Park. Mojacar and the surrounding area is Almeria´s fastest growing resort.
With its priveliged location, Mojacar village is visible from many miles away; distinctive whitewashed sugar cube houses stacked one upon another separated by twisting cobbled streets, winding steps and old arches. Restaurants, bars and craftshops lay waiting to be discovered along with the hospitality of the friendly locals. Other towns in the region each provide unique attractions: panoramic views, rich geology, traditional farming and artisanery, fiestas and a diverse gastronomy
A short trip along the coast brings you to the mountain coastline of the Cabo de Gata Natual Park, offering secluded beaches and coves. In the winter the Sierra Cabrera and Sierra de los Filabres mountains offer a superb sunny retreat for holiday makers and country lovers alike.
